The Government of India has approved the Production Linked Incentive-PLI norms on 17 February 2021 for the telecom sector.

5).The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched a pilot drinking water survey. It has been launched under the Water Life Mission-Urban (JJM-U).

  • The survey will be conducted to ensure uniform distribution of water and reuse of waste water in cities.
  • This survey will also help in mapping of water bodies.
  • Mapping of water body will be done with respect to quantity and quality of water.
  • The survey will be launched in 10 cities including Badlapur, Agra, Churu, Bhubaneswar, Madurai, Kochi, Patiala, Surat, Rohtak, and Tumkur.

6).The Government of India has decided to celebrate February 19, 2020 as Silen Health Card Day. The Psil Health Card Scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19 February 2015.

  • The purpose of this scheme was to evaluate the fertile capacity of the soil. Soil health cards are issued after every two years under this scheme. This makes it easier for farmers to put proper amount of fertilizer in the field, which has reduced the use of additional fertilizer on a large scale.
